Saving with a Savings Box
Lock money away for a season, keep it out of reach of impulse spending, and get a reward when it matures.
A Savings Box is money you set aside on purpose. You lock an amount for a period, it stays untouched until maturity, and you get something back when the lock ends.
Creating a box
In the WhatsApp chat, send savings or tap Savings Boxon the welcome screen. Give the box a name you'll recognise ( “Rent”, “School fees”, “December” ), enter the amount, and pick your lock period. Confirm with your PIN and the box is live.
The rules, plainly
- Lock periods of 30, 60 or 90 days.
- Breaking a box early costs 1% of the locked amount.
- You get one free break per box. The first time you change your mind, it costs nothing.
- When a box matures, you receive ₦200 free airtime as a reward.
Treat the lock like a date with yourself. Pick a period you can genuinely keep, and the 1% fee never enters the picture.
Checking on your boxes
Send savings again to see every box: name, amount locked, maturity date and status. The dashboard shows the same thing under your savings overview, with history you can scroll.
Where the money comes from
Boxes are funded from your Aurra wallet, and wallets are funded by bank transfer to your virtual account. Deposits are free, so moving money into a box costs nothing.
Try it yourself, on WhatsApp.
